Presentation tickets, new league secretary, revised rules

Tickets for the presentation at Sinfin Moor will be on sale at the next meeting in July, £3 per person for entry but will be redeemable at the bar.

A new league secretary was appointed at the AGM, starting her new position from the upcoming Winter 2017 season will be Michelle Shucksmith.

We have revised the leagues rules to try to make them clearer and we WILL be reading through them with all captains before any dart boards are handed out at the meeting. You can find the revised rules in the link below which we would invite you to leave any comments on anything that you would like clarifying. THESE RULES ARE NOT REPRESENTATIVE OF THE CURRENT SUMMER 2017 SEASON.

Thank you and good luck, Michelle!

AGM Meeting Summary

Unsuccessful suggested changes

  • Change format of play to play the 2 singles before the 3 doubles

New League changes (effective from Summer 2017)

  • In cup matches, all 5 legs must be played. Previously if a team won first 3 legs there was no need to play last 2 legs, new rule allows final two players a chance at getting 180's and a game of darts
  • Wherever possible, tournaments at Jaxx to begin after 8. Parking on Babington lane is free after 8 so this gives people a chance to avoid having to pay for parking. This won't be possible for tournaments such as mens singles where there are lots of entrants.
  • House championship format has been changed. Teams are now allowed to enter 2 players. These 2 players will then play in a singles competition against players from their teams section for a sectional house championship winner. The winners of these section tournaments will then play in a final tournament for the league house champion. Trophies will be available for winners of each tournament.
  • New trophy opportunities Sections 1-3 will have a trophy for highest start and highest finish Premier league will have a trophy for highest finish and for most 100+ scores. Teams will be responsible for recording these on a new fixture sheet which will include columns for these.

Rule reminders

  • In order to claim a 5 - 0 victory for a no show, a fixture sheet MUST be signed by the players of the team to prove a team was present to play
  • Fixture sheets must consist of the real registered players names (no nicknames etc)
  • Results sheets must be handed in to Elaine at the next available meeting, even if the result has been texted in.

The sections for the Summer 2017 season have been provisionally decided, So far it looks like it will be 4 sections of 7 teams with each section having 1 bye (which means there are spaces for new teams!). For the most part, you can get an idea of which team is in which league by looking at last summers league tables. top 2 and bottom 2 teams have mostly been promoted/relegated respectively
